I bought a MPC all in one computer at an auction for a whopping $20. it has been wiped clean, so i was thinking of running something like linux or ubuntu or something other than windows. all i know it has is 512mb ram and 80gb hard drive, i tried to find out all the specs but couldnt.

what are your thoughts? which should i run?

im going to search once more for the specs on this computer.

EDIT: searched google and found mixed results, but it does have a Intel Pentium 4-HT, with a range of 2.8-3.2 GHz processor.

cool. this computer is wiped clean, is there a way i can just put it straight on there so i dont have to get windows on there just to download one of the two?

yah, thats what you do, go to ubuntu.com. and burn the iso image, on the system your using now. pop it in the new computer and it will load up on the computer, and BAM!, you have Linux :)

Give OpenSuse a try too,and Dreamlinux :)

Both very pretty distros right out the box imo, especialy dreamlinux.
