i just got the x1550 pcie-x1 video card today, i can't wait to get home to try it. i just wish i had a pci card of the same caliber to compare it to. i will post the results tomorrow. with the onboard video, i can play need for speed most wanted at 800x600 medium. let's see what this little card can do.
 
ran the same game with this card installed, it runs at 1024x768 with everything on high except vert sync is off and aa is at half and runs smooth as silk. not as much of a performance increase as i thought. i'm not doubting the card, i'm just starting to think onboard is better than it used to be.
 
it was my only alternative to onboard (besides pci) and it does make it better, so i can't really complain. it's for my daughter's computer anyway, she's not a big gamer.
