I just installed a new HSF and it was rather difficult to get it screwed in. I couldn't get it fastened without the fan twisting and turning a little bit over my CPU and I could feel the thermal paste moving. I read it's not good to twist and turn the fan because the thermal compound can be less effective if done. I'm wondering if I might need to remove it and try it again, although I'm doubtful I could do any better this time around. Also, I'm monitoring my temps on CoreTemp and I notice that two of my cores are consisting 5 degrees C hotter than the other two. I know that some cores run hotter than others but it seems rather consistent and there wasn't such a difference with my other fan - it had maybe 2 or 3 degree difference. Core 0 and 1 run about 40 idle while the other two run at 35. Any thoughts on this?
