Just an FYI, and I agree about ATI's drivers, they have sucked for a while. I have issues with them. however, ATI just released a public set of APIs, meaning you will see all sorts of free open source drivers. Now people can actually tweak the cards themselves.
It will be very interesting to see where this goes, and what an excellent move by AMD/ATI to do this. We already see great 'hacked' drivers out there for both ATI and nvidia, now they are throwing that community a bone. With the APIs they will be able to directly access the hardware. It was on digg.com like last week or something.
I mean we have all seen what the open source community has already done with Open GL technology. Just go watch some Beryl and Compiz videos on youtube. I hope that ATI's support gets better because a few years ago they made some really kick ass cards.
