I am very new to computers, with this being my first build, so please go easy on me. I just did a scan with Hardware Monitor and got this:

This is my build:

Asus p8z77-v pro
i5 3570k
GTX 680 FTW+ 4GB
NZXT Phantom Full Tower (I think the case fans are connected to the PSU since the Motherboard doesn't detect them)
2x4gb Corsair Vengeance RAM
Samsung 830 128gb SSD
WD Caviar Black 1TB
Asus DVD Drive
Corsair 850W Gold PSU

Also, i have all the sliders for the case fans that came with the NZXT Phantom Full Tower all the way to the left, which is max i think.

I have no idea if these temps are ideal or how to proceed from here and make sure that this computer i just built an hour ago won't overheat when i try to play something like Battlefield 3 on Max or something. As always any and all help is much appreciated!

The idle temperature will fluctuate depending on what's running, it won't stay at a rock solid 45C all day long. The full load temperature will also fluctuate.

In the BIOS you may be able to change the RPM of the CPU cooler but I don't know why you're so concerned? I had an i5 760 once upon a time with the stock cooler and my temps were exactly like yours and it ran fine for well over a year (I sold it and replaced it with a 2500K).

Well like i said i'm new to PCs and this is my first build. I'm basically clueless, and better safe then sorry right? Thanks a lot for the help though. By the way, i used Fan xpert 2 to get my cpu cooler up to "full speed" and this is what i got:

All is fine, you have nothing to worry about, unless when your CPU is at full load your temps go beyond 75-80C, then you have to start worrying,

Thanks a lot. For HWMonitor, what do i look at to see CPU temperatures? The one that says "Package"?

Edit: And is there a program to let me see my temps during a game like Battlefield 3?
