Okay, i just reinstalled windows on my computer because i had quite a bit of problems with it being slow and buggy, its been great so far, but i need some help as to the essentials that i need to install on my computer now. My first example being, I can't get any sound out of my speakers. My guess is i need some sort of audio driver. Stuff like that. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Eric

If yuo've done a clean install, you'll need to re-install every driver that windows didn't find itself. Video drivers, sound drivers and any other hardware that will require more than the generic ones. Just go to the manufacturer's website and nab the appropriate driver for whatever hardware isn't working quite right.

What computer, make and model or hardware list.

okay i went to the compaq site (i have a compaq presario s5000cl) and got an audio driver and now it works fine.

I have another question though. After the reinstall, the computer screen seems to be a bit too big for the space that the monitor provides. Its not the monitor though because i reset it and tried stretching it but theres still a couple pixels on each side of the projection that are hidden, is there any setting that the computer system has to decrease the size of its screen?

You are probably running the default video driver. You need to install the correct one.

When you do a fresh install, you need to install all the drivers for your hardware for everything to function correctly, not just your Audio drivers.

okay, i got the size problem figured out, it was indeed the refresh rate, it was somehow turned to 75 hertz, so i took it down to 60 and that fixed everything.
