I just installed Windows XP on my sister's laptop. When I log into the internet I have to use the scroll bars on the side and on the bottom to be able to see all of a web page. Is this normal on a laptop or did I screw up on the installation?

depends on the laptop. First try to crank the resolution through the windows display menu (right click desktop). You should be able to reach the LCD's native resolution.

I'd also recomend finding out who makes the graphics card, going to their site and downloading the latest driver. Windows loads one by default but it is generally crappy. Get the right one from the manufacturer and it should let you run the proper resolution

The resolution may be too small, otherwise I couldn't imagine what the problem is.

graphics card your should be listed in your device manager. I still recomend updating the drivers even tho it's working now.
