Just to clear something up

You're comparing Pentium D processors with Pentium E processors correct?

No, I'm not. A Pentium D is basically a penitum 5, and was intels first dual core. The Pentium Dual Core is entirely different, its based on core 2 duo. look at the wikipedia link.
The Pentium Dual core is between a Pentium D and Core 2 Duo in terms of performance. The newer penitum dual cores (E5200) were only brought out in august 2008, making them less than a year old, and use 45nm technology.
