Just wanted to say Thanks

Instead of reviving the old thread which is somewhere down there.. I figured I'd start a new one just to give a quick Thanks to all recommendations on the computer parts. I got the parts last Thu and Fri and have spent the past few days putting it all together and testing the capabilities... I LOVE it. I was able to save a few things from my old PC which was great. There are a few things I plan on getting in the future but for what I want this works GREAT....

Even with using the integrated graphics my 3D work goes so much faster and smoother than with my old machine. Can't wait to get a PCI-e card but I'm even extremely happy with this as it is.

I do have one question though. When I go to play anything on the orange box - Half life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal, the computer will load the game to the main menu allow me to pick a server (in the case of TF2) and then bring up the connecting/loading screen. After it's all loaded and the game is about to start the software just crashes. Any ideas on what to try?

Heres a Solution to any of your games to check for bad files and stuff

The first thing you may want to try is to go open the game and go to settings and select" set everything to default"

If that doesn't work

Right click on Steam Icon ( bottom right of screen)
Go and Click on Games
Right Click Game with Problems
Click on "Local Files" tab
Click on "Verify the Integrity of game cache"
Wait until its done.

If that doesn't show a detected problem then reinstall the game.
 
Or maybe it's due to the game resolution. Change the resolution(screen size) and the 3D settings. That's what I did when my CS kept crashing.

Thanks for the ideas guys.. I'm gonna start going through each one tonight to figure out whats going on.
