Hello, thanks for taking the time to view.
My specs are in my signature but anyway I have an e8500 @ 3.16GHz (stock) on an Asus P5KPL/1600 Mobo. Wondering where to start for safe overclocking. I have the standard Intel cpu fan. I went with a torch to find my mobo ICS number and tried to use clockgen. Couldnt be bothered. Didnt work out. I want to learn to OC in BIOS.
Last night i went into my BIOS > advanced > CPU Ratio and set it from 'auto' to 9.5 (at .5 intervals). I then checked my CPU speed with a real-time check program (CPUID). Nothing. Still 3.16GHz.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thankyou and Merry Christmas!
