Of the three 'infections' that the Kaspersky scan has found the first is a part of SmitfraudFix, which is a tool used to remove certain types of malware and certainly not harmful. You may safely delete the
SmitfraudFix folder on your Desktop, however, since there's no point in keeping a copy of this tool, which is updated very frequently, on your PC.
The second 'infection' is a backup created by HijackThis. You may safely delete
C:\Program Files\HijackThis\backups\backup-20071210-205722-710.dll if you wish, but it's not active and won't harm your PC.
The third and final 'infection' refers to an infected System Restore point. Given that there's no active malware showing in any of your scans, I'd say it's safe to flush the infected restore point now.
Please also turn off System Restore, and turn it back on again. This will clean out your infected Restore Points. To do so:
To turn off System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the System Restore tab.
3. Select the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
4. Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.
Then to turn it back on again:
1. Wait for Windows to finish clearing Restore Points.
2. Clear the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
I would like to stress that there are no active infections showing in your logfile, and no reason at all to worry about your system security on the basis of that log. You are most welcome to post a HijackThis log for review if you need further assurance that your system is clean.
To do so, download the HijackThis installer from
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe.
Run the installer and choose
Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.
Click
Do a system scan and save a logfile
When the Notepad window opens choose Edit -> Select All to select the entire log, and copy and paste the log into a reply post.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
