Kaspersky A Little Heavy On My Old Computer?

My Norton Security suite was about to run out so I got plain old Kaspersky AV cheap since Norton slowed down my email somewhat...However it seems Kaspersky may be a little more of a resource hog..Doesn't mess with email but at times my computer seems to slow more.

I have an old computer with XP and 1gb of ram. and as Pentium4 CPU at 2.66ghz....used to have Vipre but I don't think the Malware detection is that good.....easy on resources though...maybe bit defender?..i'll take any suggestion.

Would recommend either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast Antivirus, which both are free. I wouldn't run anything else on only 1gb of memory.

I agree :good:
I have a Acer Netbook with 1 GB RAM and an Intel 1.6 GHz Atom Processor.
I use Microsoft Security Essentials and Comodo Firewall (with Defense+)

In the beginning I got a few popup windows from MSE and Comodo Defense+ asking if I trusted some 'obscure' software I have installed but after allowing these both have now gone quiet, I haven't seen a popup window in months.

MSE can be a bit heavy on CPU and RAM when updating or scanning (most other AVs are as well) so I click "Update" and go make a coffee or start a scan and go have lunch.
In general use MSE and Comodo are very lite on CPU and RAM.

I do the occasional scan with Emsisoft Emergency Kit (lives on a FlashDrive) or an online scan to double check for nasties but it always come up clean.
