Keep loosing mouse control

OK I am running an ASUS Windows 8 Desktop. The problem is 1 or 2 hours after starting up I suddenly loose my mouse control. The cursor is suddenly frozen where it is and I cannot get it to move. It is not the mouse as I have tried 3 other different mouses including one which is wireless, and I can't get the cursor to move. Because of that I can't go to start and restart, and have to do a crash stop on the wall. When I do that and start up again every thing is back to normal so the problem is in the tower. When I originally got the computer, it was wireless key board and mouse, now I am using a corded mouse which acts completely normal 99% of the time.
HELP!
 
Check event viewer at the time it happens to see if anything software-wise is causing it.
 
Thanks voyagerfan99, I should point out that my 76 year old brain has a bit of a grip on computers, but I am a long way short of being an expert. Can you tell me in Kindergarten language how to Check event viewer? Bearing in mind that once I loose control of the curser, I can't go anywhere or click anything.

Restart the computer and open event viewer. You can find it by right clicking Computer>Manage then expand Diagnostics and click Event Viewer.

You'll want to look at the Windows logs, specifically Application and System logs. Look for logs around the time the computer froze. Ignore any basic logs that are just informational (which is what most of the logs are)
