Ok my boy friend came home from work got on his computer and well saw a link on the desktop he clicked it <_<...... the link was called marklpace.com well i never heard of that before. Any way when he clicked it opened up but it turned into like this windows virus finder type thing. It had a shield on it that was green, red, yellow colors. it was not his anti virus program tho. It showed like 5 different keyloggers and a bunch of trojen's.

I got him to wright down a few of the file names
untfs.dll
fssqui.log
hh.exe

well thing is he closed out of that and ran his virus scan and found nothing. I think it was some bad pop up add but not sure.

He did do a search and did find untfs.dll but he said it been on his computer seance 4/13/08. thats when he got his new computer well around that time.

So i what do you guys think, is it a real thing or is this all a pop up add making it sound like his computer has keyloggers?

is that safe to download and post? It wont remove something he needs will it?

He has not had nothing yet pop back up on his computer.

well just for fun i did my comp first it found a lot of stuff like 16 files .... its mostly all gamevance. Is that something i dont need? should i hit remove? I dont want to delete something i will need.

oh wow ok

well if i want to show what it found. I got the log file. Do i post it here? if so how do i post it lol. sorry for so many Q's do i just copy and past or do i load up the file.

If the log is in notepad then all you do is copy and paste the log back here in a reply. You highlight all text in the log and right click, click on copy, come back here in a reply and right click, click on paste.

oh ok cool ya its a notepad thing. here it is for my comp

Did you click on remove selected to have malwarebytes delete the infections? Your log shows that you didn't. If not, you will need to rerun malwarebytes and click on remove selected at the bottom left.

I also recommending that you both run hijackthis and post both logfiles. Get hijackthis from the link i gave you. Follow instructions on how to scan and post the log.

wow i did mine. He said he was not going to do his sense he thinks his is fine <_<... any way i did mine and this is what i got. is this ok? nothing was checked marked

You are also running an older version of acrobat reader. Please go into add/remove programs and uninstall it and then go here and download the new version of adobe reader.

http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO

Make sure you uncheck mcafee security scan. After fixing all these items please post a fresh hijackthis log.

Edit::: Tell your boyfriend it would be a good idea to post the logfile from hijackthis as most malware hide themselves and can be caught by looking at the hijackthis log.
