Keyboard doesn't work at Login screen

Ok, my problem is i can't get into my computer, i restarted one day then it went to the login screen and the keyboard does NOT type at all, i have tried plugging in another USB keyboard and then PS/2 keyboards and they will not work and there is no system restore, its a dell dimension 3000 1GB ram, WIN XP HOME, 2.79ghz processor keyboard is a Dell multimedia keyboard (sk-8125) english, thank you:)
 
does the system recognize it prior to windows booting? should give you the great message, "cannot detect keyboard, press F1 to continue" or thats what mine does.

Yes it does, because it works when its in bios mode then shuts off when the xp loading screen comes up then comes back on at the login screen then nothing types at all
