Keyboard key problems

Hi

I wonder if someone could help me. I have a Sony Vaio Windows 7 laptop. My problem is that the keyboard is acting very strangely.

In MS Word, if I press P on the keyboard, P is written but it also brings up the Save As dialog box. Similarly in IE, pressing P brings up some another box.

The same happens for some other keys as well.

Would be grateful if someone could help me to solve this problem.

I have tried all sort of things, like Num Lock and function keys.

I also thought that perhaps different keys have been assigned as shortcuts to other things. I have tried to search for assigning keyboard shortcuts on Windows 7 but I could not find any useful info.

So I am still in limbo.
