So I started up the computer and the keyboard and mouse didnt light up, there was no picture on the moniter and the cd tray wasnt responding. I have disconnected and reconected all cables with no sucsess.

any help at all would be greatly appreciated

That sounds like a tough one. I guess the worse case scenario would be that electrostaic discharge fried the motherboard. Or when you pressed down on the RAM to insert it the motherboard flexed below it and was damaged. I say first things first though. Try to get it back to exactly like it was before you messed with it. Take the RAM stick that you pushed in back out and see if it fires up. Maybe your motherboard can't handle that much RAM or something is not set correctly in BIOS. Maybe it's the wrong type of RAM.
