My keyboard and mouse aren't working when my OS loads but before that on the boot screen i can get to the bios and the keyboard works just fine. I also tried several keyboards and mouse but with the same result. I reset the bios settings to default but that didn't work neither. And also when i connect my phone to a usb port, the phone charges.

Any Help ?

Can't login without a mouse and keyboard.. I had ubuntu on the harddisk and thought maybe its from the OS so i changed the harddisk with one that has windows XP on it but i still have exactly the same problem.

USB keyboard/mouse?
BIOS set to PS/2?
Does bios have a usb support option that's enabled?
Advanced>Peripherals>USB Legacy
Somthing like ^ that?

Completely reset your BIOS back to defaults and then go into the BIOS and see if you can enable USB support or something.

Ah sorry didn't see you had reset your BIOS.

Have you tried another USB port, or do you have a USB expansion card you could try it on? If the issues also occurs when you use a PS/2 keyboard I'd say the issue could potentially be with Windows. Tried booting into Safe Mode and seeing if the problem persists?

Like said above, try safe mode and see if they work. If your using a USB mouse and keyboard, try unplugging and replugging them in after windows boots and see if they are detected.

Than you :D it worked! I went into safe mode and my mouse was working but not my keyboard so i went to the control panel to install the drivers and restarted the computer and the mouse and keyboard were working and i could sign in but now my desktop is showing just a part of the icons on the left and i cant see the taskbar as if the screen was too small and the desktop too big. Also when i'm done with XP i would like to put back my hard-disk with Ubuntu installed on it, does it have a safe mode?

Right click on the desktop and click on properties. Click on the setting tab and drag the slider bar to the left to lower the resolution to the size the monitor supports.

The icons on the desktop were part of the background, i opened task manager and went to processes and "explorer.exe" wasnt running so i ran it. But how can i install the mouse and keyboard drivers on ubuntu? Is there a safe mode?
