Keylogger virus

This person who iv never met in real life before (probably trying to play a joke on me) add me on msn. Me and the person started talking and the person sent me a picture. So i accepted the picture and when I opened it a message from windows popped up and said that the file that he just sent me was a harmful file(not in those exact words of course) Now I cant find the file that the person sent me on my computer and I have fear that he might of installed a Keylogger. My Norton 2008 does not pick it up but I still fear there is a keylogger installed in my computer.

I am using Windows xp

How would I find out if there is?

I’m not sure but if u install a firewall and when the keylogger try to connect '' to the person who added u on msn'' u can block it and then look at the target and then delete it from there.
Remember I’m not sure about it will work but it’s worth trying.
