Kids Games Age 5-7

Hey all my sister is currently trying to get her little 6 year old to buckle down and do some reading at night but she is just like her mother and "blocks" any help we try to give her and goes into the ignore zone.
One way to solve it is to make her fanny go red but I was thinking it might solve some problems with her mother if I found some good reading/math/spelling/time etc games for her to play.
Problem is I can only seem to find games like "Barbies Dream World" and crap that has nothing to with learning for the most part.

Any mommies or daddies on board that have a good list of games that they might have let their kiddies play?

Go through the educational games section at most electronics stores will have a pretty good and wide array of games for you to choose from. A lot of them are specifically geared towards specific age groups.

get jump start games. they go by grade level. they teach the little ones math science etc. in a fun interactive game way. they'll like it.
