I'm gonna be running on i7 930, ASUS P6T mobo.

Yes I know all of you will say get 6GB KIT since it has triple memory support, since my budget is tight, can I run on a 4GB KIT, then later on buy 1 x 2GB to add on? Because I feel that 4GB will do me well for the time being and there is no need for 6GB as of yet.

Just one thing will this RAM be alright for my specs?

Then how come people saying I can't use 4GB, I only can use 3GB, 6GB or 12GB? I'm so confused.

you can use 4GB, some people are under the impression that because it is triple channel you MUST use triple channel (hence the multiples of 3 in the memory they think you can use), which isn't true.

Much like in dual channel setups how you can run with just 1 stick of memory, even though that isn't in dual channel, you can run in single or dual channel on a triple memory board with no problems, even though it wouldn't be in triple channel

So in conclusion, the i7 930 CPU. You can use 4GB (2 x 2GB KIT)?

Must be rumours how people say it only can take 3GB, 6GB, 12GB (due to triple memory), saying the i7 won't be able to use 4GB.
