The fan in my power supply is the loudest thing, and truthfully its not that loud. I want to make my computer a silent powerhouse. It is some sort of Martech 120mm Fan on this power supply:
Does anyone know of any 120mm fans that have some sort of temperature sensor that I can replace my current one with? This one runs at full blast all the time, so I'd like to see if I can get one that changes speed with the amount of heat. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Well, what fan would I know to replace it with, if I'm not going to get that fan controller? All my 3.5 and 5.25" bays are filled up . The fan that is in there now says "0.15 Amps, 1.8 Watts" but some of that energy is probably used in the four LED's that are on the fan. I looked online to see if i could find how many CFM's it does, but no luck. How can I find a suitable replacement?
How about the SmartCool by Antec? The fan speed changes as the temperature does (rpm increases when temperature does and rpm decreses when temp decreases).
That antec fan looks really good, what about this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811999344
Do you think this can automatically change the speed, or only that manual control? I think its a pain if you have to manually change the speed of a fan when you are doing intense applications.
