Knowledgeable Computer Teachers?

I was just wondering if any of the more computer literate people in here have ever found a computer teacher that actually had more than basic and lower-advanced computer computer knowledge. So far I haven't found any teachers that knew more (or even comparably) about computers than me. The only people that I know that really knew more than me were the tech support guys at EAST (its a special class at my school and maybe 50-60 other schools in the US), these guys are what tech support is supposed to be, they actually know about computers. So far school computer teachers don't know crap...

My computer maintenace teacher didn't even know there was an AGP 8x...that's how bad she was...but my Intro the Phys and Chem teacher actually knew a lot about computers and electronics. I often saw him fixing iPods for people...he also held LAN parties at the school which was awesome.

Yeah, you won't find many that know much until you get into a college/university setting. Then you get some people that really know what they're talking about (depending on where you are, of course...)

in our school there is only one teacher that teaches advanced computer classes but the thing is that he doesnt know alot about it. he had to ask the students for answers instead lol. last thing a student need is a teacher who's stubborn and would not admit that he doesnt know his stuff.

this reminds me of elementary school the computer chick there didnt even know the font on word can go above 64 lol

In 1985 I took a computer class in high school where I was far more advanced than the entire semester's curriculum, and indeed the teacher themselves. The first day of class I was programming a rather involved RPG on the Pet, so they put me in a coop placement where I taught students grades 4-8 including special ed how to use computers.

In 1987 I had a computer teacher who was brilliant. The guy new anything and everything about computers, or so it seemed, and that's where I gained my knowledge about assembly language.

My computer teacher sometimes gets his facts mixed about hardware but he does know a lot more about programming than I do.

Many computer teachers know the book, or a specific topic(say programming or Office...) Don't expect teachers to know everything unless they actually teach the topic.
