Kodak Printer-Use less ink?

Right now i'm using a 6 year old Lexmark printer. Just a printer and nothing else. Will admit it's worked perfect(unlike several MP3 players) since the day I connected it. I want to get a printer with the scanner. Does the Kodak all in 1 printers really use that much less ink? There ink cartridges seem to be very cheap also. Almost sounds to good to be true. Thanks for your help!!

I've not seen claims of less ink, but their ink is cheaper. Where it comes in a combined colour cartridge there is the disadvantage you have to buy a new one when one colour runs out. The cost of ink is not everything. Price of printer (quite high for Kodak), quality of print and reliability all contribute to the overall cost and value.

We really don't use the printer for much. No documents. We have a HP Photosmart A526 for our digital camera and i'm quite impressed with the quality of the photo's. After thinking it over maybe it would be a better idea for me to buy just a scanner. Space is not a problem cause our computer desk is one of those gray ones that the government uses. I call them "bomb proof" desks.

Since i'm not having any problems with the printer or the HP Photosmart think it's a better idea that I just buy the scanner? If so who makes a good scanner in the $75-$120 range? Many Thanks!
