All,
First off, hopefully this post is in the correct section, if not I apologise.
My current home set up is as follows:
1 Linux Desktop
1 Dell Laptop
A KVM switch that my laptop and Linux desktop are connected to. This enables the sharing of 1 monitor, keyboard and mouse between the tow devices. When using my laptop I am able to extend the screen to the monitor and so have a dual set up. Not ideal though as the montior screen is smaller and lower.
So, here is my question. Is it possible to have a dual monitor setup in this environment that both the laptop and Linux desktop can use and keep the KVM? If so how would I go about doing this? Just having a hard time since there is basically only 1 video out on the KVM. Ideally I would like to have my laptop sitting underneath the desk, or off to the side somewhere so that I just have the two monitors, keyboard and mouse on the desk itself.
Hope the above makes sense.
Would appreciate any help on this.
