1. How to connect my laptop to my desktop, so that I can transfer my desktop data directly into my laptop. Is there a USB to USB connector?

2. How can I have LAN connection between them, so that I can play multiplayer games in both computers.
 
You can get a crossover cable to directly connect them for file sharing and gaming. Of course, if you use the LAN connector for your modem or something, you might be better off getting a cheap switch and some ethernet cable to hook them up - this way, you can use the internet while the computers are connected and you can hook up more computers if you ever need to.
 
1. Crossover cable = the cheapest way to network the two.
2. I guess your already familiar with the IP addressing right? so goodluck.
 
not that i recommend this but they do make a usb to usb connector like you said... but it wont let you play games...just transfer data
