LAN Connectivity Problems

It is possible you have a software/hardware problem on the laptop. Have you reimaged the laptop? Tried a new, or another PCMCIA NIC?

Something could cause it to broadcast those bad packets, making it harder to communicate with your network.

I already tried replacing the network card. And the reimaging was a good idea, but the person who is using the laptop doesn't think backing up all of his stuff is worth it.

well it sounds to me like an OS problem if you already swapped out NICs. Tell them to back up their data and reinstall windows. At this point we have ruled out pretty much everything else. So, by simple process of elimination, the next logical step is to wipe and reload all software.
