LAN emulation

I need to emulate a LAN in order to play a game with friends, I need some way of making the game think we are on a LAN so we are able to join each others games. I know this can be done but need pointing in the right direction!

need more info than that, ike, where are you positioned physically, what is yor internet connection and are any of you behind routers, what privelages do you have on each computer, are you part of a network already.

we are positioned all over the united kingdom, there is three of us, 2 from north and 1 in south. we have a range of 2mb and 768k lines, 2 of us are behind routers and I dont know what u mean by privelages and networks.

He means do you have admin access or are you just a user? And are you within a lan already? like does your routers have multiple computers connected to it?
