Lan ME and XP

How can i Lan an pc with me and a laptop with me, we had troubles doing it,

Assuming that on the desktop is XP (not ME) and on the laptop is ME try to disable the "Internet connection sharing" in XP.

Well, it's not making much difference.
Have you tried the Internet sharing thing?

both cant use net at the same time

Install this cute little program: http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/proxy.htm on the computer that can access the net and follow the instructions (it's kind of tricky to get it to work - see the program's readme).

Wouldnt a router be simpler? You can even get away with just a switch/hub with some DSL providers
