LAN port keeps connecting and disconnecting

Hi,

I have connected a LAN cable(CAT 5e) to a DeviceMaster. The LAN port keep disconnecting and connecting. "Network cable unplugged" then a second later "LAN port is now connected". Why is this so?

NIC could be going out. Cable could be bad. Problems with the router or modem... problems with the NIC driver... lots of reasons really... kind of need more information... What's the make/model of the computer? What is your network/Internet setup? Onboard NIC or PCI/PCIe? When did this start happening? Any hardware/software changes? Does it happen sporadically? Or is there some sort of pattern?
 
I had added an external hardware device(DeviceMaster Serial Hub) with virtual COM ports on my host PC. Its only when i connected the LAN cable to that device that the periodic off and on started happening.

But now its alright already. I hadnt installed the device's driver properly which was affecting the LAN link. Now that is solved. Thanks anyway!!
