LAN setup HELP please!!!

I'm trying to set up the Internet on my desktop. I recently re-installed Win XP using an OEM disk and I think I messed up the whole computer. Now the only connection that shows up in the Network Connections folder is 1394 Connection. How do I remedy this problem please???

You need to install drivers for your network card. What is your motherboard /or computer make?

I have a HP m8400f. I'm not sure about the motherboard. That's a little bit above my knowledge level. Thanks for your help though!!!

Go to the HP website, see if you can find a download page or whatever for your computer. You may be able to find the network drivers there.
