Laptop adapter/charger question

2 part question...

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 and the adapter will no longer power the unit. The adapter also makes a little chirping noise....do I have a battery problem or is the adapter fried?

Also, I found a potential repalcement adapter:
Input: 100-240v~1.5a 50-60Hz
Output: 19v---4.74A

But mine has slightly higher specs:
Input: 100-240V-2.0A(2.0A) 50-60 Hz
Output: 19V 6.32A(6.32A)

Compatible?

Thanks.

Eh... You should be OK... My guess is that it wouldn't charge the battery or something like that. or you may run into problems when trying to do something processor/GPU intensive. Or the power supply may burn out prematurely :P

I'd look around some more. As long as the voltage and polarity (plus and minus on the plug tip) are correct, you can essentially have as many amps are you want.
