Laptop and no brain are a bad combination...

my friend has a laptop and for some reason doesnt know if he has a sound card...he thinks that maybe he does but doesnt have drivers for it to work or something like that....

is there some way to tell if there is a sound card...also the thing does have a headphone slot if that mattersor not...
 
extremely few laptops are soundless, he may have to check master volume, may need drivers, find out what kind comp he has and go to the companies site for drivers.....it may just be muted on volume though
 
well when i click control panel then sound volume, it says "no sound device found"....does this mean i dont have one or does it mean i need drivers?
 
probably means u need to find the drivers for it because as it was stated earlier in this topic, very few laptops come without a soundcard...did ur friend recently install a different version of windows?

ya i guess he got the lap from a friend and had to buy WINXP and install it himself...but how could i find the drivers if i dont know what kind it is?
