Laptop, bad HDD

Should I take a laptop with a hard drive problem fix it and use it for myself?

Yeah, just take the HDD outta the caddy,put a hdd in and your ready to go. make sure it IS the problem though, not a failing controller or failing mobo...

Well if you have a cheap HDD around and a good laptop with bad HDD... then yes of course.
