iam wondering how to make the laptop battery usage for long life...so is it harmful if the laptop stays in the electricity? or is it better to discharges the battery and then charge it and so on ....=)

I think it hurts the battery if you leave it plugged in all the time. If you want, you could calibrate the battery. This could help in getting longer life. If you're leaving it plugged into ac power, then take the battery out (some laptops dont support this though).

It will not hurt your laptop battery, this use to be true on the old batteries but on any laptop made within the last three years has lithium batteries that don't have these problems.

Better Battery

are you having problems with your current battery? i recently purchased one offline and have had a good experience with it so far. it's a Denaq replacement for my D620. the price was reasonable and it has a one-year warranty. i would definately look into something like this if you are having problems with your current battery. it's a lot cheaper then trying to get one from dell right now, they are outrageous!

What's bad is if you unplug your laptop, let it run for say 5-15 minutes on battery, and then plug it back in again, and do that several times a day. Usually the battery won't charge until it's around 95% charged, to help preserve the battery life. If you know that you won't be using the battery for a while though you can take it out to be sure.

I read that if you leave your laptop with its battery in plauuged into the mains over 6 months the battery length will decrease by 75% which is a bit crazy so i wouldn't do that. Also wait till the battery is right down low at the bottom till you plug it in. Oh and don;t overcharge it too much.
