okay...ive installed windows defender and i have no virus's..i have an anti spyware program and i have no spyware on my computer.. Ive cleared the computer of alot of junk i dont need. I have defragged the computer but yet still it seems to just get slower and slower...i was playing RA2 (Red Alert 2) earlier my laptop easily beats the system requirements but it was being slow and jerky...CSS (Counter Strike Source)i cant play anymore and i could before.. i dont understand whats wrong with my computer.

The only other thing ive found is that when i press CTRL+ALT+DEL..and click on proccesses i have alot of programmes running...36ish over all running all the time.. I know bugger all about computers, should all of these be running..i dont want to press end process...before i get advice.

If there is anything else you could think of please let me know.

My System

Processor: Intel® Celeron ® CPU 2.93GHZ

RAM: 448mb

Graphics card: Radeon IGP 345M

Harddrive: 40 gig..got about 10 free.

((i know its crap but i am saving for a desktop, just need to know if there is anything i can do while i wait..i mean surely it should be able to play RA2 fine))

Thanks in advance

((Note: Sorry if i have not given all the information you need to make a decent reply, i am not great with computers...thanks for your time though))

google Panda Scan, and scan with that, it's a online scanner, save the log 2 your desktop 3 see what it foun.

How was the defrag? Was it bad before and tkae a long time? How much free space is left on your HDD?

Definetly stop some of those processes, 36 is way too many for that little RAM. I'm down to 18 on startup with my laptop right now. And I only have 328MB RAM.

Well different services are critical to different computers...no one can really say "close that one and that one" as they might be things YOU want to run.

Google the name of each one (alot are redundant) and see what program/app they are related to. If you want that feature to run keep the service, otherwise you can close it. Don't mess with svchost.exe, explorer.exe, or winlogon.exe. A few of those cannot be closed.

No point in upgrading ram...saving for a desktop gaiming computer..just wanted to see if i could clear up anything while i wait for it...Thanks for advice
