laptop bluetooth needs security code

hi all,
I'm trying to use my laptop bluetooth to connect to my friends phone so he can send me a movie. Ever time I try to connect it asks for a security code. He doesn't have on on his phone and i haven't been given one for my laptop as i haven't touched it yet. Is there away i can find out what my code is set to?
I have a lenovo 3000 c100

you specify what code you want to use, then your friend will have to type that same code in on their phone.
