For some reason, on ACER laptops, the harddrive is split in half, Local C and D drive. I was running out of room on my C-drive so I moved some files over to the D drive. encluding the boot icons. This happened yesterday. I Now I turn on my laptop and I get the message saying:
NTLDR is missing
Press any key to restart
When I press any key, the same message comes up again, underneath the3 first message. I've copied the bopot files from the computer I'm using now, onto my jumpdrive. This computer and my laptop both have Windows XP. I go into Setup and have it boot from my jumpdrive. Then I get a black screen again but saying:
Press any key to boot from CD. . . . .
I press R for repair I have a Windows XP CD in CD drive. It said something like the system is inspect your computer hardware or something like that. That message stayed on the screen for about 5 minutes then restarts or something. I still get the same message about NTLDR is missing.
I try again to boot from my jumpdrive, the screen goes black again and says:
Press any key to boot from CD. . . . .
NTLDR is missing
Press and key to restart
Very weird.
