laptop buying help

I am fairly inexperienced with buying laptops, and i was hoping for a little advice

I am looking for a somewhat powerful laptop in the 1500-2000 dollar range, and so far the companies that are standing out to me are sager, sony (the vaio laptops seem like a good deal... even if they use some outdated parts), and apple (overpriced, but they seem so sturdy... i would be running windows on it). Honestly, I dont know if I am even on the right track

well... steer clear from the dells and acers... You could get this - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220483. Its fairly powerful and you could play some decent games at there default settings plus its an Asus which is reliable.
