Which laptop company is best?
1. Sony
2. DELL
3. HP
4. Lenovo
5. HCL
6. Apple
7. Acer
and any other if u know
I think apple supports only mac OS so pls leave it out only if its the best.
 
Dell are very good with Laptops I have a few and they seem to work perfectly.
Apple only have MAC OS on it so might have some compatibility problems when running some of your applications.
 
Dell is trash in my opinion. The best laptops, in no particular order are as follows.

*WARNING - this is my opinion based on owning, using, servicing, and supporting every brand of laptops for the past 10+ years*

1 - Asus
2 - HP (business class only)
3 - Apple
4 - Lenovo


All of these companies actually design their own components. They may not manufacture them but they design them. Where as a company like Dell re-brands parts by the lowest bidder.

Lenovo - I think they are only good at thinkpad line

Correct, but those Thinkpads are still pretty good. Also, I don't like Asus low end laptops either. They seems cheap and flimsy but their mid to high range are good. I have never liked Dell, Gateway, Acer, Sony, or any other brand really than the ones I listed.

I have owned basically almost every brand of laptop there is, and my opinion is my Macbook Pro is the best laptop I have ever owned period.
 
It's probably better to judge laptop quality by the model series rather than by the brand. As others above have mentioned, there are several laptop manufacturers who have good mid to high end laptops but poor budget laptops. The only manufacturers I would say that are consistently decent across the board would be Apple, and perhaps Samsung and Sony. Maybe not so coincidentally these are also manufacturers that tend to cost more compared to other brands of similar specs.

I account for build quality in my opinions. Sony is a company that makes a good product but I don't like them for my own reasons. For one, servicing Sony laptops for years at a previous job, they are a pain to work on. They also are very picky with RAM at times. Some of the plastic parts feel cheap too.

So, my reasons probably do not apply to your average common consumer.
 
Talking about HP, I am a bit focused on HP ENVY 17
It has an i7 processor, 1500 GB HDD , 6GB RAM, it costs right at the edge of my budget.
What do u think about it?
 
Contrary to what most people say, I personally really like Dell (Latitude line only). They're very easy to work on and the parts are easy to get.

Second I'd have to say Lenovo. The Thinkpad lines are superb and very durable!

Third I'd have to say ASUS. They make an absolutely beautiful computer with high quality parts.

HP is outstanding, if you buy business class. I had a 13" slim HP business class years ago and it was super fast, super light, and it supported Linux which made me happy.

Their consumer level stuff is so-so if you ask me and would not be my first consumer level laptop choice.
 
I like Dell's XPS line - good relatively thin and light computers (for the 1530 and 1330), and reasonably powerful, while having some of the best customer support around.

my friend had a bad experience with HP, lenovo thinkpad series is good
 
Reliability-wise, Sony and Toshiba are up near the top. Just throwing that out since they haven't been mentioned much. Toshiba's laptop bodies do kind of suck, though.

Personally, I think Asus RoG machines rarely fail to impress.
