I need to connect to the internet using a laptop

how do I connect?

Ive seen this lappy has infa -red , I think....

Infared won't be any good.
You need to either have a wi-fi card (built in or an extension card) or an Ethernet cable (RJ-45) cable and plug it into the ethernet port on the back/side of the laptop.

Ok it's an old lappie pentium 2

Think ill be able to install a wifi card?

Ill need to open it..

it does have a usb

BUt I prefer to be intergrated (thank you)

No way to go integrated that I know of.

You can probably sell that sucker on ebay for a couple of hundred.Lots of people
looking for old machines like that and take that money and buy you a 400 dell.

Or you can invest in one of these.

You won't be able to go integrated, but you should be able to use either the PCMCIA slot, or USB. I would not use USB as it is problem USB 1.0 or 1.1, which would severely bottleneck the WiFi connection.

You need to make sure that your laptop has a PCMCIA slot, you should be able to find the specs by Googling the model.

That or looking at the side to see if there is a slot for a card to go in.A card is going to cost you around $70 bucks.

If you put the laptop on ebay,,chance are it will bring in the $150-$200 range.Instead of spending $70 bucks for the card,,take your money from ebay and apply it to any one of the many $400 dollar computers out there. All of them have integrated wireless nowadays.Even one of the $299 ASus computers would be a huge step up for you.I have a buddy that has one and uses it for internet surfing. For internet surfing,,it runs everybit as good as some of those $800 laptops,

Good luck.
