Hello,

So the question is it possible to have a local connection to my router and not to the world wide web ?

The computer is very exploidable , i do not want to risk anything...

My router is a fritz box - if more info needed please ask.

I have no clue about networking yet...

Sincerely,
Rick

Go into the network connections and right click your local area connection that you're connected with. Right click and select properties. Then i nthe box below, highlight "TCP/IPv4" and click the Properties button. Make sure both sections (IP Address and DNS settings) are set to automatic.

Thanks for your reply, i'm on linux it would work the same way ?

It would be similar, yes. Although I've never been inside the connection settings on Linux so I can't guarantee.
