laptop CPU upgrade intel celeron --> core duo

hi everybody!

ich wanna upgrade my CPU of my laptop. my current CPU is intel celeron M 440. I wanna change it to intel Core Duo T2500.

my question is:
would it work?
do I have to reinstall my windows? ( I have both XP and Vista)

is it possible to change the southbridge/ northbridge chip of a laptop?

most laptops cant be upgraded and the few that can are new such as the ASUS C90S
you will not be able to upgrade your laptops to a core2duo i dont think a desktop running a celeron m could even be upgraded to the core2duo
 
your mobo probably can't handle the newer cpu.
your cpu is maybe even soldered onto your mobo.
same goes for north and soutbridge. is part of the mobo
 
laptops are highly not upgradeable. Better to sell ur current rig and then buy a new lappy.
