Laptop CPU Upgrade

Hi, I don't know much about CPU's, but I want to upgrade my HP G60-637CL Notebook's CPU From an Intel T4400 to an Intel T9900, so I can watch and edit HD videos better. It uses the same socket, but I'm not sure if my laptop's cooling system will be able to handle it. The intel site says that both proccessors have 35w Max TDP, but the site I want to buy the new one from says 35w in the subtitle, and 80w in the description.. could this be a mistake? Would the new one give off more heat regardless, because its faster? And do you know of any better cpus that will fit a PGA478 socket?

you'd be better off to just go ahead and get a new laptop for that price

these should all be marginally faster, especially the i5's, most are refurbished but are still the better brands and should work fine, they certify them as like new just might be missing something like a disc, but the gpu will be better, the cpu faster, even the lower ghz ones will smoke those core 2's, even the phenom quad, or a phenom dual or trip core will be fine, although i didn't include them in the search

and if you still plan to upgrade you will first need to contact customer support as even if the socket is correct, oem mobos don't always support every cpu on the socket, and the 1 chipset update i saw on the support page didn't say anything about new cpus so you need to check that out, and the cpus come with a new cooler too so the colling shouldn't matter.

Thanks! I didn't think a quad core computer would be that inexpensive.. I'll just save money to get that then.

it's the fact that laptops are always more for less, and also a intel i series cpu is much faster than anything else out at the moment, the i3 is 2 cores acting as 4, i5 can be 2 as 4 or 4 as 4 on laptops, the desktop is 4 as 4, and idk bout the i7 lappy, but the desktop is 4 acting like 8, all will own anything you through at it, or even 4 of anything

but i do want to say, look for like the i3 2130m or i5 2*** over say the i3 380 or whatever, the 2***'s are the newer model and are slightly faster, but either will be a big performance increase, and also the i3 2130 will have newer models coming soon, and they will put out a chip for like 60 or so i think, that will up the frequency (ghz) and sometimes the l3cache, but idk if it will be worth the price yet, they haven't released specifics on it really.
