Hey everyone
Its computer buying time for the family and I'm trying to make the decision.
My options are...
Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E530 w/ the i7
Dell Inspiron 17R w/ the i7 ( http://www.dell.com/ca/p/inspiron-17r-se-7720/pd )
Duties will consist of internet browsing, streaming video, a small amount of business work, RC flight simulator, basically general household usage. Also, It will be used as the Bedroom entertainment unit, I will hook it up to the TV for netflix, etc.
I'm buying it from a local computer shop... not a big box store. My salesman is telling me that the Dell would be better suited for my needs ( although we both agree the lenovo is a better quality machine )
The dell comes in at $300 more then the lenovo. BUT Dell has a 17" 1080P screen vs 15" 720P, 1 TB HDD w/32GB ssd vs 500gb HDD, and a dedicated graphics card vs Intel 4000 graphics.
The downside to the Dell is it can only be bought with Windows 8... so I will have to invest $100 immediately in a copy of windows7. ( Windows 7 is a must have )
I think I'm leaning towards the Dell... but wanted to get an expert opinion from the folks on the forum. Thanks
