Laptop Disk Drive Problem

My mother's boss has a Dell vostro 3700 laptop fast track with an 8x dvd rw double layer dvd drive. He says it randomly opens without anyone purposely opening it. Does anyone know what might cause such a problem?

There might be a ejection key on his keyboard he is hitting without knowing it.

It could also be the eject button gets stuck and intermittently makes contact. If it's the spring-opening type it could be a defective mechanism. I don't know of any shortcut keys nor shortcuts other than ones you could create yourself.

If it is happening while the laptop is being used, you would have to check what programs are running that have the capability to eject.
