LAPTOP dont work HELP!!!!

I just received a dell latitude LS p3 from my friend because she docent want it. But every time i try to power it on it just shuts off. I hit the power and all the lights light up and it starts working but less then a sec later it just shuts off. Nothing on the screen has time to show up so i don't really know whats up. Please help me out

well if it doesnt have time to boot and just shuts off, maybe the PSU isnt any good anymore, or it was dropped and something is shorting it out. hopefully just not enought power, has the labtop wever been worked on?
