Laptop for College

Hey I am looking for a new laptop to get for college, I am going to be majoring in Computer Science. I have always been a PC gamer so I don't know how less I can get and have a usable computer. I already have a enthusiast level computer so I don't need much, also what could I use to connect the two without a wireless router they aren't allowed at my university
 
I'd go for a Dell. They have great battery life and are very durable; a great laptop for college. However, if you're going to be gaming then a normal Dell wouldn't be good enough, you'd need a gaming laptop. Asus make good gaming laptops except they're like $2,000+. If you decide that you want to get a gaming laptop over just a normal laptop then it might be worth looking on Ebay, there'll be some cheaper ones there.
 
I already have a custom built PC for gaming I just need one strictly for school and computing stuff.
 
What's your budget? I recommend Lenovo G570 4334DDU or Sony EG3 Series Laptop, see comparison here, both of them are around $500, I think Sony EG3 has a better quality, but the Lenovo has more better performance, it features a i5 processor.
