Laptop for gaming

I am looking into a new new laptop. I have recently wiped this one to see if it would run better and not much luck. I have had this one a few yrs and didn't like it from the start.

Any time I run more than 3-4 gb of memory it would start to slow down.
When I opened it out box it would have serious problem after 3.5 it would freeze up randomly about every 15-30 minutes. Also the computer will not use all of the cpu's.

I only see 4 of them using about 40-50%. Then when it freezes up. All 8 graphs run up to 80-90%. Sometimes it has maxed them out to 100%
Other times it is reversed. I am using 40-50% and they will all drop to 0-5%

hp envy 15
intel(R) core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.4GHZ
12gb ram
64bit
Intell hd 4600

I am trying to run ksp city skylines crusader kings 2 and some older stuff. The older ones don't have to many problems.

KSP will run fine until I move the computer. Then it will start to freeze up like the rest.

What is the highest CPU GHZ possible?
Where to go to buy a computer? I have been to best buy before. Along with other stores that have computers. However they don't really know what they are talking about and give you just the minimum amount of info. Also they don't really have good computers.

I bought this one directly from hp only because they "said" they didn't have the parts for my older one and would refund me the cost of the laptop. However they canceled the check and refused to admit it.
They still say it shows cashed on their end.

You've got another problem. Make sure the laptop is as dust free as possible. Get a can of pressurized air and blast every nook and cranny of it. What temperatures are you getting with your CPU while playing games? Use CoreTemp or HWMonitor to check.

Also what GPU do you have? If you don't have a dedicated GPU then games aren't going to run that well. Also laptops obviously aren't ideal for gaming purposes either.

I forgot where to find gpu. Found it and changed in 1st post

The reason I mention I have had it for a awhile. I feel comfortable getting rid of it and that I didn't completely waste money on it.
