laptop graphic card?

how good is a Intel Integrated HD Graphics 3000 won't be used for much gaming just movie and university civil engeering and what about the NVIDIA GTM 2gb
 
For movies and basic use, the intel 3000 will be fine. For gaming, not so much. Is all it says is Nvidia GTM 2GB?
 
I am also planning on purchasing a laptop with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card (more specifically, this), and was wondering if it would smoothly play 1080p videos from my external hard drive. Do you think it will?

Thank you for your swift answer. I know very little when it comes to computer hardware, but I plan on changing that.
 
this is a good place to learn. If you have more questions though, it would be better to start your own thread to avoid threadjacking others. This question was ok though as it directly related to the thread subject.
